Ninja Wins By KO!

This Saturday, the Skrap Pack's Jordan "Ninja" Felix took home a 2nd round KO victory. Ninja was competing on the CAMO sanctioned amateur card a Dragon House in San Francisco. It was the first KO for the Ninja, whose earned his still undefeated record by submission in each of his previous fights. Ninja has previously competed at the Blue Lake Casino, and also at several Pure Pankration events. Jordan "Ninja" Felix is featured in the upcoming James Z. Feng film, "The Fight Life".

Luke Stewart at Strikeforce Challengers 7

Luke Stewart is back, that much should be clear. Luke's fight against BJJ World Champion Andre Galvao at Strikeforce Challengers 7 was easily the best, and most relevant of the night. Although Galvao would ultimately take a razor thin split decision, you can easily make the case that the victory should have been Stewart's.

Regardless, both fighters fought exceptionally well. For Stewart it was his first fight since November, 2008, and it marked an important step in his evolution as a fighter. The Strikeforce crowd saw the most complete Luke Stewart to date. Luke peppered Galvao on the feet, and reversed the BJJ World Champ following every takedown. From the top position, Luke was able to inflict damage with effective ground and pound. Without Question it was Stewart who inflicted the the majority of the damage throughout the fight.

Although he wouldn't take the "W", Luke Stewart has put the Welterweight Division on notice that he is back and sharper than ever. The fact that Luke could put aside a year out of the cage, and come back to fight so well against such a high level opponent speaks volumes about his skill and his potential. El Niño Sports' Skrap Pack debut

With a little help from FDM, the Skrap Pack team from El Nino Sports made a hugely successful debut at Winter Warriors this past Saturday night. It was the latest in a great series of MMA events put on by the Blue Lake Casino in Northern California.

Three of the boys entered the cage this time around, and all three walked out with Dubyas. Beau Bunch and John Clopton both took dominating unanimous decision victories. Bobby "The Bear" Taylor took submission of the night with a very nasty arm bar at the end of the first round.

Three victories was a sweet way to launch the new fight team out of El Nino Sports. El Nino Sports was launched by Gilbert Melendez in late 2008, and is quickly becoming one of the best camps in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Congrats to our friends on the huge night up north! FDM is proud to support the fighters at El Nino Sports. We see a tremendous amount of potential in the young team, and many victories to come. Please check back often for FDM collaborations with the El Nino Sports family.

FDM is proud to sponsor Dustin “Prince” Akbari, and proud to have been ringside Thursday watching our friend unleash a devastating beating at PFC 8. The young phenom improved to an undefeated 2-0, and made a big impression on everyone in attendance.

For those of you unfamiliar with Akbari, he is a longtime student of Cassio Werneck, and training partner of #1 ranked Featherweight Urijah Faber. Dustin fights out of Ultimate Fitness in Sacramento, California. The “Prince” has long impressed everyone he has trained or competed with. We’ll all be hearing a lot more about him soon.

Thursday night was a great second step in a career we expect to be extraordinary. Dustin is a truly gifted phenom possessing a high level of technical prowess, combined with a very aggressive, unrelenting style. He possesses all of the intangibles needed to reach the highest levels of the MMA world. Please join us in congratulating our friend. We are all excited to see what’s next for Dustin, and to watch his ascent.

FDM – New Line Photo Shoots

We just finished a whirlwind two days of photo shoots for the new collection, stretching from San Francisco to Sacramento. The SF and the SAC are two cities that are close to our heart, good friends and good teams. Day one was shot at Gilbert Melendez’s El Nino Sports, and day two was shot at Urijah Faber’s Ultimate Fitness. Just as with our launch, it took a little help from a lot of good friends. Combat Lifestyle’s Tracy Lee made the trip out from Vegas to help us get it all done right. Can’t say enough good things about Tracy. She was awesome, and we couldn’t have gotten this done without her.

All the fighters at El Nino Sports and Ultimate Fitness were great too. They let us steal just enough time and floor space to get our shots done, and make them look killer. The photos from the shoot will start to make their way out this weekend across many different types of media. We hope everyone likes the shots and the new collection as much as we do.

FDM would like to give special thanks to Gilbert Melendez, Urijah Faber, Luke Stewart, Tareq Azim, Dustin Akbari, Matt Sanchez, Bobby Taylor, Tito Jones, Danny Castillo, John Clopton, Bo Bunch, and all the other fighters who participated in the shoot.
